Botany
is one of the preferred
choices to study among
the science students in
India. Botany focuses
on the extensive scientific
study of plants along
with their structures,
growth, use, and process
of all forms of plant
life-their evolution,
ageing, decaying and death.
A person, who deals with
the study of Botany, is
generally referred to
as a Botanist. His job
involves comprehensive
study of flora, which
range from the minutest
bacteria to the largest
tree. Considering the
current scenario, various
factors like population
explosion, pollution and
so on are affecting the
flora. Therefore, apart
from in-depth study of
flora, a Botanist is also
required to explore the
possible way out of agricultural,
horticulture and environment
related issues. Thus,
career in Botany can be

| The
department has three fully equipped
and well furnished laboratories
with the latest state of the art
equipment to facilitate deeper
understanding of various aspects
of Physics and Electronics. Out
of these two labs are dedicated
to conducting experiments in Physics
and one in conducting experiments
in Electronics. Some of the important
studies undertaken in these labs
are designing of electronic circuits,
experiments in solar cell, diffraction
experiments using lasers, circuit
analysis using cathode ray oscilloscope
and experiments in solid state
physics apart from experiments
in mechanics, optics and electricity
and magnetism. |

Physics is
the broadest of the sciences.
Physics comprises astronomy,
electronics, optics, thermodynamics,
hydraulics, mechanics (statics
and dynamics), atomic theory,
cosmology, physical chemistry
and other fields. Physics is
concerned with those aspects
of nature which can be understood
in a fundamental way in terms
of elementary principles and
laws. The most basic parts of
physics are mechanics and field
theory. Mechanics is concerned
with the motion of particles
or bodies under the action of
given forces. The physics of
fields is concerned with the
origin, nature, and properties
of gravitational, electromagnetic,
nuclear, and other force fields.
The aim of physics is the construction
of a unified theoretical scheme
in mathematical terms whose
structure and behavior duplicates
that of the whole natural world
in the most comprehensive manner
possible. Where other sciences
are content to describe and
relate phenomena in terms of
restricted concepts peculiar
to their own disciplines, physics
always seeks to understand the
same phenomena as a special
manifestation of the underlying
uniform structure of nature
as a whole. In line with this
objective, physics is characterized
by accurate instrumentation,
precision of measurement, and
the expression of its results

we have three well-equipped
laboratories consisting of all
the required equipments. Along

an analytical laboratory, which
has UV-VIS Spectrophotometers,
Conductometers, pH Meters, Flame
Photometer, calorimeter etc.
for fulfilling the requirements
of the Honors Classes and also
of new restructured syllabus
of the B.Sc. (Prog.) students.
Besides this, to take care of
the recent requirements of the
students, chemistry department
has also established a well-organized
computer laboratory, consisting
of many personal computers.
Chemistry is that physical science
which includes the study of
a range of matters such as atoms,
crystals, molecules and many
other collections of matters
whether they are in isolation
or in combination. It also involves
the concepts of energy and entropy
that are related to the spontaneity
of various chemical processes.
Since this is a branch of natural
sciences, it is commonly known
