The Department of Commerce and Management was established in 1994 with a vision to provide quality education in the field of Commerce, Business , and Management . Initially functioning at MAY FLOWER School, Kotra Sultanabad, Bhopal, the department was later sifted to the college's own campus at Trilanga in 1995.

Since its inception, the department has been committed to delivering effective, accessible, supportive and affortable education that empowers students with knowledge, professional skills, ethical values, and leadrship qualities required to meet the challengens of the modern world. The department functions under the esteemed guidance of Dr.(Prof.) Pavan Mishra, and at present, Dr. Monika Rajvaidhya serves as the Head of the Department.

Emerging prominently on the educational horizon of Bhopal in the year 1994, Rajeev Gandhi College has earned recognition as one of the leading institutions of Central India, known for its academic excellence , disciplined environment, and holistic development of students.
